Angle heads are typically used to go through the tool changer and perform operations in drilling, milling, and tapping, which are in a +/- 90-degree spectrum off the fixed CNC machine axis and have a 350-degree radial positioning scale.
The heads are typically designed to hold tool diameters up to 1″ and feature models with extended reach, besides fully adjustable angles. Fixed 45-degree models are available.

ANGLE HEADS for CNC Machining Centers
A complete line of angle milling, drilling, and tapping heads is available from SOTECH. The heads are designed with the main body housing close to the machine spindle, and the taper gauge line to the horizontal output shaft to minimize cantilever action. The output spindle position can be adjusted 360 degrees around its axis without moving the stop block, with the use of an engraved calibration scale.
Head Features
- Aluminum housing machined out aircraft billet material and anodized finish.
- Integral one-piece taper and input spindle, hardened, ground, and balanced.
- High-precision angular bearings, with ground and secured lock nuts.
- Precision ER Collet style output spindles, hardened and ground alloy tool steel.
- All gears are helical tooth form and ground finished on all plains, including ID bore for up to 8000 RPM speeds.

Delivery includes 1 Collet, wrench set, operating & installation CD, Dimensional drawing & parts list. The anti-rotation stop block (supplied with a machineable spacer) is required per your machine’s spindle dimensions.
